Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always been a woman of dignity and substance. She has never crossed her line in front of the camera; neither has she ever behaved unreasonably. In fact, she has always maintained a one-arm distance from speaking or ill-commenting about anything.
She came forward only a few times in her life when she opened the Pandora box. For the first time, when she decided to give a tell-all interview against Salman Khan, where she literally announced her break up officially.
She tried to ignore talking about him on Koffee with Karan but did talk about her misunderstanding with Sanjay Leela Bhansali when they both graced the couch. She even talked about how she was replaced in films in an interview with Simi Garewal. However, it doesn’t mean whatever happened did not bother her.
In fact, she once reportedly broke down on Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s sets while shooting for Guzaarish, listening to whatever was constantly being said about her. This might be pure gossip, or it would have actually happened if some source even claimed what happened, what was said, and what was done.
According to an old and archived report by India Forums, it all happened after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s wedding to Abhishek Bachchan, and she felt a bit affected by the skeletons from the past. So much so that she once broke down on the sets of Guzaarish and said, “I’m living my life the way I want. I wish others would do the same. Just let me be.”
So what was said that affected Aish so much? It was allegedly two interviews. One where Salman Khan was talking about hitting a woman and claiming he has never touched anyone and the other where Vivek Oberoi opened up to Farah Khan on how his efforts for Aish were never recognized by her. The tabloid reported how a close friend from the family defended Aish and said, “We feel what Mr Khan and Mr Oberoi are doing is very ungentlemanly. It’s unchivalrous to talk about any lady who has moved on to a new phase in her life.”
The friend also added that Vivek Oberoi should man up and take responsibility for his actions as an adult after he allegedly said that the Aish did not recognize his efforts for the press conference. The said friend claimed that Aishwarya Rai was ‘horrified’ when she came to know about the press conference.
Meanwhile, the family friend also claimed that Salman Khan was asked by another friend to stop talking about the dos and don’t of physical abuse in interviews and Aishwarya in specific, but he shrugs, saying he can’t help if that is what the media wants to listen to.
India Forums quoted, “Aishwarya’s friend refuses to buy that reason and says, “Agreed that the questions are provocative, but the person being asked isn’t being forced to reply. He could easily choose not to discuss such ugly topics in public. At the moment, Aishwarya is working on two of her most difficult films and does not need rude distractions from the past.”
Well, guess that happened after this presumed and speculated report? Over the years, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi gradually stopped talking about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan specifically or in general. Well, that is some chivalry, we guess!
