
Park Bo-Gum is currently flying high with the success glory of his latest Netflix K-drama, When Life Gives You Tangerines, in which he plays Yang Gwan-Shik’s role alongside IU. Viewers loved him as Gwan-Shik, and everyone appreciated his purity and decency. But before the hype of When Life Gives You Tangerines could die down, the actor announced his next project, Good Boy, where he will be seen portraying a different shade of character.
The production team has already announced the streaming and premiering details of the series. Bo-Gum will feature opposite the actress Kim So-Hyun, who is popularly known for her performance in Love Alarm. Fans are quite excited as the actor will enter a boxing ring for the project. Yes, that’s right.
The K-drama, Good Boy, features a stellar star cast, in addition to Park Bo-Gum and Kim So-Hyun. It includes Lee Sang-Yi, Heo Sang-Tae, and Tae Won-Seok. The storyline of the sports drama follows former medal-winning athletes who have turned into police officers to take charge of the criminals in the world. As per reports (Via Pinkvilla), the series is going to premiere globally on Prime Video on May 31, 2025.

In the K-drama, Park Bo-Gum plays Yu Dong-Ju. Even though his name is inherited from a Korean poet, he prefers fistfights in a ring. Dong-Ju is a boxer and with time he realizes how boxing helps him in getting disciplined and focuses him on his career so much so that he wins a gold medal. But when he gets expelled from the team, he faces a rough patch in his life that makes him to turn and become a police officer.
As he navigates through his stressful life, he meets with Ji Han-Na (Kim So-Hyun) and realizes that he likes her. Han-Na is a former shooting expert whose career in sport turned upside down because of too much of stress and scrutiny. When she sees an opportunity in the police force, she takes it up following her father’s footsteps. Now, she is a part of the team, where there’s a lover boy Yu Dong-Ju and her ex-boyfriend Kim Jong-Hyeon (played by Lee Sang-Yi).
Lee Sang-Yi can be seen as the second male lead in the drama as he plays Kim Jong-Hyeon, a former fencer. He is a silver-medalist. Apart from them, the drama also has other sport athletes who will also join forces with them to beat up the criminals. Heo Sung-Tae will be portraying Ko Man-Sik, former bronze-medalist wrestler, who will also lead the squad and former bronze-medalist discus thrower, Shin Jae-Hong (Tae Won-Seok) will bring a fresh perspective to the team.
Well, we can’t really wait to see Park Bo-Gum in the drama. It is all set to premiere on Prime Video on May 31.
