Kapil Sharma has come a long way in his career. Not many know, but the comedian used to write plays in his college. Cut to rejections and low days and finally making it through despite all the hurdles. The TKSS host got married to long-time girlfriend in 2018 but did you know he was rejected when he asked for Ginni Chatrath’s hand to her father? Read below for all the scoop.
As fans know, the career in the comedy world began with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2017 for Kapil. Before that, he had no hopes whatsoever. Given the fact that Ginni was from a family with way better financial conditions, the comedian decided to call it quits.
Revealing all the details, Kapil Sharma shared, “I felt that our friendship has no future, as her financial condition was better and we belonged to different castes. So, we took a break. When I got selected for Laughter Challenge after auditioning again, she called to congratulate me.”
Kapil Sharma continued, “Inke papaji ne bade pyaar se bola, ‘Shut up’ (laughs). Thereafter, I got busy with work, while she pursued MBA in finance. I guess she kept studying to avoid marriage proposals. At that time, I was settled in Mumbai, and so much was happening in my life. I then realised ki itna kuchh hua hai, but isne kabhi mujhe disturb nahi kiya. Itna patience kisi mein nahi dekha maine. Jab ye sab gadbad chal rahi thi, that’s when I decided that it was the right time to marry.”
Ginni Chatrath was actually one of Kapil’s students when he used to write plays and earn side by side in his college days. A friend even once told The Kapil Sharma Show host that Ginni likes him. The Firangi actor ended up asking it for his now lady love about it directly.
Ginni denied the rumour that time! But clearly, she loved him afterall!
