The Bold and the beautiful has been high on drama but some important faces of the soap opera have been missing in the last couple of months including Wyatt Spencer and Thomas Forrester. The characters have been off screen and living their lives out of Los Angeles but there is good news.
One of the two has posted something that has hinted at his return and it is none other than Matthew Atkinson who plays Thomas. Fans immediately started getting excited and asking if he was actually returning to the show. Here’s what we know about his potential return to the daytime drama.

Matthew took to his Instagram to share a video from the set of The Bold and the Beautiful and fans simply went berserk. “Second time’s a charm,” he captioned the video where he played cornhole outside the studio. The viewers wanted to know if he was back as Thomas on the popular series.

Soap Opera Digest has now confirmed that the soap star is returning and this was not just a set visit to meet colleagues, as some fans were afraid of. He joined the show in 2019 as Taylor and Ridge’s son as well as Steffy’s brother. Matthew was last seen on the long-running show in June 2024.
After Thomas proposed to Hope and she declined his proposal every time, he decided to leave for France with his son Douglas. When he returned to Los Angeles, he revealed he was engaged to Paris Buckingham. A while later, Thomas and Paris headed back to France and since haven’t returned.
It hasn’t been confirmed how his return would be, whether he would arrive back home alone or if Paris will accompany him as his fiance or maybe his wife. Diamond White has been essaying the role of Paris but it hasn’t been confirmed if she is returning. Matthew has now begun filming for the show.
Thomas will be back on The Bold and the Beautiful during early September when the episodes being filmed at the moment will be aired on CBS. Fans have been expressing their excitement about his return and the shippers of Thope aka Thomas and Hope are hopeful for a reunion of their favorites.
One user commented, “Soooooo does this mean I have a reason to tune in again?” While another said, “I hope this means you’re coming back to Bold and Beautiful, you have been missed. We need a Thope reunion!” Another stated, “I just want Thomas back and for #Thope to happen again.”
