What a year 2025 was for Indian cinema! Big-budget films, such as They Call Him OG and Coolie, set new milestones in pre-sales, although they ultimately failed to deliver. They Call Him OG roars at #1 spot!
Pawan Kalyan starrer They Call Him OG registered final advance booking worth 65 crore gross (excluding blocked seats) for day 1. It set new milestones for Indian cinema, as no other film could cross the 40 crore mark, let alone achieve such heights for the opening day! The Telugu period action drama is almost 74% higher than Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which stands at the second spot with pre-sales of 37.3 crores.
It would be interesting to note that the top 3 advance booking sales of 2025 included two Telugu films. Apart from They Call Him OG, Hari Hara Veera Mallu (35 crores) clocked the 3rd spot with pre-sales of 35 crore gross.

Tamil cinema dominates the list!
2025 was the year for Tamil cinema as almost 4 big-budget films made it to the top 10. This includes Rajinikanth’s Coolie, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly (18.90 crores), and Vidaamuyarchi (18.40 crores).
There were only two entries from Bollywood – War 2 (21 crores) and Chhaava (13.85 crores). The last but not the least spot was secured by Rishab Shettty’s Kannada blockbuster, Kantara Chapter 1 (13.07 crores).
