Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. After making a place in everyone’s hearts with her performances in films like Satta, Laadla, Shool, Dilwale, Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi and many others. Apart from Hindi films, she has also been a part of the South industry with her presence in films like Ratha Saradhi, Bangaru Bullodu, Sadhu, and KGF: Chapter 2, among others.
Now in a recent interview, the actress has opined on the difference she has witnessed while working in both industries. The actress has at depth talked about the South not making many elitist movies while Bollywood follows the Westernized culture.
Speaking to Rajshri Unplugged, Raveena Tandon spilled the beans on the things she enjoys while working in the South industry. She said, “What I enjoyed a lot in the South industry is that they were so strongly connected with their roots and culture that their films were super-duper hits. They don’t make much of elitist movies. I think that’s what works. Whereas in Mumbai, they followed the westernized culture.” Adding, “When I used to come to Bombay (Mumbai), everyone used to say that I’ve put on weight. When I used to go to the South, they used to be like why have you lost weight? Eat a lot. So I used to enjoy it a lot. I used to leave dieting and eat idli, dosa and coconut chutney in abundance.”
