The first red flag happened when Nathan’s sister, Britt, who also came back after faking her death, acted oddly around Nathan. She did not meet him as if she were delighted to find her brother alive after all these years. He got his job back at the PCPD, but made errors and mistakes during a case.
Despite finding out that his wife, Maxie, was in a coma, he did not go to meet her even once. The fake Nathan also started getting close to Maxie’s best friend, Lulu, and the two fell for each other. When the two kissed, he stated that he wanted to be the man she saw him as, which raised eyebrows.
And when Maxie woke up from her coma and chose Spinelli over Nathan, he seemed relieved and happy to get serious with Lulu. This is something that fans could not wrap their brains around. Maxie was the love of Nathan’s life, but his behavior since returning did not reflect that.
