Ajay Devgn might be coronated as the King of clashes. The actor, who has been enjoying good word of mouth with his latest release, Shaitaan, is gearing up for a huge clash with Akshay Kumar on Eid with his film Maidaan, where he will take on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. While the battle seems to be very interesting, this will not be the first time Ajay will lock horns with another superstar.
Recently, he opened up about the clash and mentioned that he wishes for both films to do well. In fact, last year, Gadar 2 and OMG 2’s clash proved that two good films can survive. In fact, Ajay’s clashing history also proves the same.

In the last 15 years, the actor has faced a lot of clashes, and the results have been surprising. While he definitely leads the scorecard, there have been clashes where he won despite the films not working in his favor. The only strange clash he faced in the last 25 years was when Baadshaho clashed with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

During this clash, despite leading at the box office, Ajay Devgn was at a loss where, whereas Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was a hit.
In the last 15 years, Ajay Devgn faced 13 clashes. Out of these, Ajay Devgn won 9 clashes. Most of these clashes were with superstars, and both films had the same weightage. Except for a few instances. Interestingly, out of all the clashes, there were four clashes with Akshay Kumar! While Ajay won 2 of them, he also lost two of them.

The clashes where Ajay Devgn lost, also interestingly, were hit films except for two flops, which were Thank God and Toonpur Ka Superhero, both of which were lost to Akshay Kumar‘s Ram Setu & Tees Maar Khan. Apart from this, he lost Shivaay to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Son Of Sardaar to Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Out of the 13 clashes, 8 were festival clashes except for Runway 34, clashing with Heropanti 2 on Eid, and Toonpur Ka Superhero, clashing with Tees Maar Khan on Christmas. Apart from them, there were six Diwali clashes in 2009 between Golmaal 3 and Action Replayy, in 2010 between All The Best, Blue & Main Aur Mrs Khanna, in 2012 between Son Of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, in 2016 between Shivaay & Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, in 2017 between Golmaal Again and Secret Superstar and in 2022 between Thank God & Ram Setu.
There were times when either both films were hits, or both the films were flops. For instance, both Thank God & Ram Setu were disasters. Even London Dreams and Aladin were flops. Aakrosh and Knock Out were flops. Rascals and Love Breakups Zindagi were disasters. At the same time, both Son Of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan were hit.
