Don 3 is back in the headlines, and once again, it is all about the casting confusion regarding the lead role. Earlier, it was reported that Ranveer Singh had walked out of the project. Some reports emerged soon after, claiming that Hrithik Roshan is confirmed to be the new Don. However, newer reports later suggested that Hrithik could also be out of the project.

However, many are still betting on the Dhoom 2 actor to star in the Farhan Akhtar movie. There has been no official statement from the makers on this development yet.

With so many twists, fans are now wondering who could step in if Hrithik Roshan really backs out of Don 3. Here are some actors who could potentially portray the gangster lead.

1. Emraan Hashmi

If both Ranveer and Hrithik have backed out, it’s evident that the filmmakers will be looking for someone with similar talent. This is where Emraan Hashmi comes into the picture. His portrayal of Shoaib Khan in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai as a gangster was well-received by audiences. Over the years, Emraan has played several dark and negative characters with ease. If he leads Don 3, the franchise could take a grittier and more intense turn.

2. Akshaye Khanna

Akshaye Khanna is currently enjoying strong praise for his role in Dhurandhar. His portrayal of Rehman Dakait in the blockbuster movie left a solid impact on viewers. Right now, audiences are clearly enjoying Akshaye in dark and intense roles. If the makers choose him as the new Don, it could work well for the franchise. His calm yet dangerous screen presence fits the role perfectly.

3, Ranbir Kapoor

With the massive success of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor demonstrated that he can effectively handle intense and violent characters. The actor is currently busy with Ramayana, but his recent work has shown his darker side. Don 3 could give audiences a chance to see Ranbir in a stylish yet ruthless gangster avatar.
