So after a lot of anticipation and noise, Ranveer Singh is back to entertain his audiences. After Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, he has taken a major genre shift in Dhurandhar. Helmed by Aditya Dhar, the initial promos impressed me, to be honest, and I walked into an almost full theater to enjoy this action biggie!
The film has opened to an intense terrorist attack scene, and it has set the mood of the film so right!! The film is extremely organized, and the opening 30 minutes are setting up the premise, introducing the characters categorically so that you understand the premise properly once the film picks up pace.
But the initial start has also hinted at one thing – this is an extremely elaborate film, and you cannot lose your attention, or else you will miss something or the other. Also, there are too many characters and too many known faces. Some will even surprise you, like I was watching Gaurav Gera in an extremely unrecognizable role.
Trending
I have three distinct thoughts while watching the first 50 minutes of Aditya Dhar’s action biggie.
BGM Is Another Character!
The background music of the film is styled interestingly. An entire intense action sequence is choreographed with Ramba Ho playing in the background. Not that it is something too fresh or out of the box, but still, it is giving a very different level of swag to the film. It does not look unnecessary and is synchronized very organically! Nothing looks out of place!
Every Actor Is Nailing It
Every actor has been introduced like a larger-than-life hero. Till now, I have seen R. Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna making a brilliant impact with their introduction scenes. Alshaye looks brilliant as Rehman Dakait. Even Rakesh Bedi is impressive as a cold-blooded Pakistani politician!
Something Is Off With Ranveer Singh
It has been 50 minutes, and there is something off with Ranveer Singh’s energy! I am not sure if he is keeping it lowkey due to the premise or if he is lost due to a shortcoming in the screenplay, but Ranveer seems too misplaced or displaced in this Spy World. Hope he’s taken off once the film gears up for a ride!
The only issue till now is that I am already feeling exhausted with setting up the premises. It has been 50 minutes and three chapters, but the film has not yet started!
