The Industry has been mourning the demise of actor Pankaj Dheer, who immortalized the character of Karna in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat. The show is still one of the most loved series on Indian Television. It first aired on Doordarshan from October 2, 1988, to June 24, 1990. In a span of these two years and almost 94 episodes, it turned all its stars into superstars!

So, basically, all the main actors of the series earned almost 2.82 lakh from the show, which starred Mukesh Khanna as Bhishma Pitamah, Nitish Bharadwaj as Lord Krishna, Firoz Khan as Arjuna, Puneet Issar as Duryodhana, and Roopa Ganguly as Draupadi.

Pankaj Dheer died battling Cancer and is survived by a son, Nikitin Dheer, and a daughter-in-law, Kritika Sengar, both renowned names of the Indian Film and Television Fraternity! While Nikitin rose to fame with Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express, Kratika portrayed Rani Lakshibai in a TV series.
On television, Pankaj Dheer was last seen in Sony TV’s Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi Se Pare. His last film arrived in 2016, titled Kaptaan. It was a Punjabi film starring Gippy Grewal in the lead.
