In 2015, when SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning was released, Prabhas became the new crush of many Indian girls. He won hearts with his solid act as Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali. The movie became a blockbuster, and the actor’s popularity sky-rocketed. He became a familiar face not only in the South but also in the northern part of the country. The film also stars Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nassar and others.
With Baahubali: The Conclusion, Prabhas became one of the biggest South stars. Of course, his female fan-following also saw a striking growth, and everyone wanted to know what was next for him. After giving two massive blockbusters, in 2019, the actor featured in Saaho. Directed by Sujeeth, the action thriller also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Jackie Shroff, Arun Vijay and others.
Prabhas’ character in Saaho was completely different from his Baahubali movies. Hence, the actor once said in an interview that women might hate him for the movie. In an interview with Reddif in 2019, the Salaar actor talked about how different his character is and how impossible it is for him to maintain the image he built in SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus.

Prabhas said, “Yes, women might hate me for some time after watching Saaho. But it’s next to impossible to maintain my Baahubali image in my next releases. We will not be able to entertain the audience by having the same image in all films. If the script is very strong, you can break your image. The script plays the most important part in creating or breaking the image of an actor. Also, the audience will watch any film, irrespective of your image. It’s better to go into the commercial zone and do a screenplay-based film.”

The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi. Sadly, it couldn’t be a big hit like his movies with Rajamouli. In the same interview, Prabhas was asked how he handles the female attention in his life. The actor revealed that during his school days, he would never talk to girls unless they came and spoke to him. After Baahubali, the attention has been a beautiful experience for him.
Meanwhile, Prabhas’ next is Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic dystopian drama, Kalki 2898 AD. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Prakash Raj and Disha Patani. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 9, 2024. Earlier, there were reports that the movie might get postponed due to elections. However, the makers have not made any official announcement regarding the same.
