It has been nine years since we first saw Prabhas in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali. The Telugu film was released in 2015 and shattered many records. No one will forget the craze, buzz and memes that went viral after the film was released. The question “Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?” was also one of the reasons many flocked to theatres to watch the period action drama.
In 2017, Prabhas and Rajamouli treated us to Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which was grander and more emotionally driven and packed with breathtaking action scenes compared to the first one. Even though the movie reached a satisfactory conclusion, it also opened the gates of how the story could be taken forward.
In 2019, the Salaar actor was asked if he would reunite with SS Rajamouli for Baahubali 3. Prabhas shared that he was given a certain number of scripts and how many total scripts Rajamouli had. The actor told Rajeev Masand in an interview, “If SS Rajamouli wants to do part 3, he should get excited. He only gave me 6 scripts, so he would have done some 10-14. We almost finished 60% there. I know he had the script in mind for 5 years. But I don’t know if Baahubali 3 will happen or not.”

Further, the actor shared how comfortable he was giving four years of his life and career to Baahubali. He said, “Toward the end, I felt I want to do something else also. Sometimes, I forget I was part of the project; it was that surreal.” Prabhas added that Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali will never get out of his system.
Will there be Baahubali 3 or not? This is a question whose answer only SS Rajamouli can give. But we would love to see him reunite with Prabhas soon. The Baahubali movies also stars Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Nassar, and Sathyaraj.
This year, Prabhas will entertain his fans with Nag Ashwin’s epic sci-fi dystopian thriller, Kalki 2898 AD. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Prakash Raj, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. It was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi and will release in theatres on May 9, 2024.
