Since the first part was released, DC fans have eagerly awaited some updates on The Batman 2. The Matt Reeves directorial gave a new face to the caped crusader with Robert Pattinson. The movie received many positive reviews and an immense response from fans worldwide. Hence, the fans couldn’t contain their happiness when the sequel was announced. But what if we tell you you will have to wait much longer for the second part?
Initially, The Batman 2 was supposed to be released on October 3, 2025. However, the new release date for the Robert Pattinson starrer is now October 2, 2026.
Why Is The Batman 2 Delayed?
As reported by The Wrap, the cast has not started filming yet. An inside source revealed that Matt Reeves’ directorial got pushed back due to a delay in the script. The issue arose due to the 2023 Hollywood writers’ strike that affected a lot of movies, TV and web shows.
Along with Robert Pattinson, The Batman 2 also stars Zoe Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis. Collin Farrell, who played Penguin in Matt’s 2021 movie, will feature in a spin-off standalone series, The Penguin. Created by Lauren LeFranc, the Max series also stars Cristin Milioti, Clancy Brown, Michael Zegen and others. The series will release in late 2024.
For DC fans, it’s sad news with The Batman 2 getting postponed by a year. But for Sony and Marvel fans, there’s good news. Tom Hardy’s Venom 3 title and new release date are now out. Fans will see the adventures of Hardy’s Eddie Brock and the Symbiote early in theatres.
Venom 3 Title & New Release Date
As Variety reported, the superhero movie’s threequel is titled Venom: The Last Dance. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 25, 2024. The film was earlier supposed to be released on November 8, 2024. Last year, Tom Hardy had sneakily dropped the title in his Instagram post from the sets. The Mad Max Fury actor wrote, ” The Last dance – thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic Cast and crew…”
Just like The Batman 2, the plot details of Tom Hardy’s Venom: The Last Dance are under wraps. But considering the title has “The Last Dance” mentioned, it gives us an impression that the threequel might be the final instalment. Now that Eddie has learned about Spider-man after Spider-man: No Way Home, we wonder how the makers shape the third film’s story.
