The Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood is awaiting one of his biggest releases with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan this year. Meanwhile, stories of his action movies and box-office success have dominated the news cycle. An incident back in 2015, narrated by Dimple Kapadia, left him and Twinkle Khanna embarrassed. Things escalated so much that Akshay had to shut Dimple’s mouth, and Twinkle snatched the mic away from her.
Dimple Kapadia is one of the most celebrated actors who has redefined the boundaries of cinema and craft. With stellar performances in movies like Tenet, Pathaan, and more, she continues to dominate like no one else. But it turns out even the most incredible actors can embarrass their children.
We are talking about the incident when Twinkle Khanna launched her first book, Mrs. Funnybones. Before unveiling the book, Kapadia said that the first time she realized that her daughter had a different sense of wit was after her wedding to Kumar.
She went to say that during the Khicada ceremony, after the wedding. Only Akshay and Twinkle accompanied Dimple. At one point, Kumar asked for some soda; when Dimple narrated this incident, Kumar immediately tried to intervene to stop his mother-in-law from spilling any secrets.

But it looks like she was adamant and would not stop. She continued, “Okay, so what does my brilliant daughter do? She’s sitting there, newly married, and she goes, ‘Ohh jab pet bigda jaaye, hawa idhar se, hawa udhar se, kaahe ghabraye?’ Can you believe this? I was sitting there…”
Everybody laughed, and Twinkle Khanna rushed to the stage and took the mic away from Dimple Kapadia. She also said she was her mother, and she would not stop.
Akshay has always said that Dimple is his best friend and has pulled many pranks on her in public forums. Twinkle Khanna has since released two more hit novels, but no such embarrassing secrets have ever spilled out.
While Dimple Kapadia starred in a pivotal role in the hit rom-com Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Diya and Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak, Kumar’s much-awaited Bade Miyan Chote Miyan releases in Theatres on April 10th.
