Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is a bible to many people who swear by their friendships. The film, helmed by Zoya Akhtar, offered a story about three friends, played by Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol, who decide to take a long pending promised trip together.

ZNMD was one of the most loved films of its time. However, what if we tell you that the ending you saw was not the actual ending of the film? However, the original ending of the film left many viewers confused.

These viewers were those who saw the film for a trial. Initially, the film ends the moment Bull Race is completed, and you see Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol winning the deadly race and finally, a poem in Farhan Akhtar’s voice plays – “Dilon mein apne betaabiyaan leke chal rahe ho to Zinda Ho Tum.” The movie ends with this scene itself.

But something hilarious happened after the people watched it with this ending. In one of her interactions at an event, Zoya Akhtar once revealed that after watching this end, people asked her if Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol had died in Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara!

The filmmaker was appalled at this question. She narrated the questions and said, “They were like, so did they die? What happened?” When Zoya realized that people did not follow the ending of the film, she additionally shot the song Sooraj Ki Baahone Mein where Hrithik Roshan’s character gets married to Katrina Kaif’s Laila.

The filmmaker confessed in her interview, “I put that song for clarity and wanted to write, ‘For the Stupid People’.” The video was shared by Instagram Handle of Juggernaut. However, while the filmmaker shared the anecdote in a rather funny way, people were not very impressed with her judging the audience for not getting the ending of her film.

After watching the video, a user commented, “Did she call ppl dumb? The same ppl who made the movie a blockbuster?” A user tried to ease the conversation and take a dig, “Not all are children of poets and artists, Zoya, get a grip! At least you could have asked Dad to add an extra line at the end of that scene. “Agar bulls se bachkar bhaag pae toh Zinda ho tum.”

Another user pointed out, “I am glad that they put the song at the end, and it certainly resonated well with the audience. I don’t think it’s stupid to offer the obvious- Indian cinema is way different than any other place of cinema in the world as the audiences are fully vested or not. It’s either yes or no. There is no grey; they love to imagine through lens eyes. They live through lens eyes, and hence masala movies do well here too, and I am proud to be one of them.”

Meanwhile, if you are struggling to remember the sequence we talked about, here’s the clip.
