Mark Wahlberg returns to the world of crime thrillers with Play Dirty, in which he plays a career thief who walks straight into a storm of trouble. The ‘Boogie Nights’ star’s latest target is not your usual vault but a heist tangled in a deadly web of power. From a ruthless South American leader to the ruthless New York underworld, and a billionaire with too much to lose, Parker’s job quickly turns into a brutal balancing act. However, he is not alone in the mess. LaKeith Stanfield plays Grofield, another slick operator with his sharp edges, as the two gear up for a mission that demands more than brute force.

Where and When Can You Watch Play Dirty Online?

Play Dirty will premiere on Prime Video on October 1, 2025. The first image, revealed at Collider’s exclusive preview, shows Wahlberg and Stanfield in action, dressed to move and already deep in their next move.

The film, directed and co-written by Shane Black, who brought audiences Iron Man 3 and The Nice Guys, mixes old-school grit with fast-talking edge.

Play Dirty is Based on Donald E. Westlake’s Parker Novels

Based on The Hunter, the very first of Donald E. Westlake’s Parker novels penned under the pseudonym Richard Stark, this marks the third cinematic adaptation of the story—following the iconic Point Blank and Payback. This time around, Mark Wahlberg takes the lead, joined by Rosa Salazar as Zen, with a stellar supporting cast that includes Tony Shalhoub, Keegan-Michael Key, Nat Wolff, Thomas Jane, Saskia Archer, and Chukwudi Iwuji.
