The Great Indian Kapil Show S4 OTT Verdict (Week 1): A Lukewarm Start
The Great Indian Kapil Show S4 OTT Verdict (Week 1): Weak Beginning For Kapil Sharma & Team! (Photo Credit –Instagram)

Kapil Sharma and his gang are back for the fourth time on Netflix, but the initial numbers suggest that the Great Excitement Of The Indian Audience is cooling down for the biggest comedian on Indian Television and Web. The fourth season of the comedy show hosted the global icon and our very own Priyanka Chopra Jonas. But the opening week numbers of the show are not celebratory!

Least Viewed Premiere Episode!

Out of the four seasons, this season’s premiere was the second least viewed premiere episode of the comedy show. Week 1’s OTT verdict indicates the King of Comedy is losing his charm, at least with his Netflix appearances!

The Great Indian Kapil Show Week 1 OTT Verdict

The first episode of the fourth season, featuring Priyanka Chopra, was low on fun and high on cringe! As a result, it garnered a viewership of only 1.5 million on Netflix, failing to enter the top 10 trending non-English shows of the week on Netflix’s global list!

The Great Indian Kapil Show Netflix Viewership Summary!

If we look at the trajectory of The Great Indian Kapil Show since it moved to Netflix, then the premiere episode of the debut season remains untouched!

  • The Great Indian Kapil Show S1 Week 1: 2.5 Million Views
  • Season 2 (Alia Bhatt & Team Jigra): 1.2 Million Views
  • Season 3 (Salman Khan): 1.6 Million Views
  • Season 4 (Priyanka Chopra Jonas): 1.5 Million Views

I am not sure if, with such a lukewarm start, the upcoming guest list will help Kapil Sharma reclaim his throne, or if the show has really reached its saturation point on OTT.

Note: The debut week viewership numbers are the official numbers given by Netflix for all the films that arrived on the platform, irrespective of the day they arrived in a week. Some arrived on the fourth day of the week, some on the 5th, and so on, but the debut numbers are calculated by Netflix weekly, not day-wise.
