We had previously reported that Rajinikanth may have become the highest-paid actor in Asia. He has two films lined up, but fans cannot keep calm about his collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Titled Thalaivar 171, the superstar is reportedly taking home a staggering salary of 260-280 crores.
Thalapathy Vijay charges a bomb for Thalapathy 69?
As per the latest rumors, Thalapathy Vijay has also hiked his salary considerably. He has reportedly demanded remuneration of 250 crores for Thalapathy 69. If that turns out true, he will be the second highest-paid Indian actor, with a paycheck only about 4-10% less than superstar Rajinikanth.
Recently, Prabhas’ salary for Kalki 2898 AD was also revealed. The Darling actor is charging a whopping sum of 150 crores. That, indeed, is another jump in his paycheck, but Thalapathy Vijay has crossed this milestone with an impressive 33% increase.
On the other hand, Allu Arjun took home a sum of 125 crores for Pushpa 2. When compared, there’s an increase of about 100%, which is mind-boggling! Vijay is indeed set to recreate new standards before he retires from his acting career.

Karthik Subbaraj will helm Vijay’s last film. The director had previously approached the Leo actor with two ideas, but he wasn’t convinced. A picture of their meeting went viral on the internet a few months back. So, it seems the duo has found the perfect script to work on. Vels Film International is producing the upcoming project, set for a release in 2025.
Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay is currently busy shooting The Greatest of All Time. He will reportedly be seen in a dual role. Additional cast includes Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Sneha, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha, and Ajmal Ameer. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film is slated to release on July 31, 2024.
