Kannappa: Akshay Kumar To Take The South Route To Save His Career After Back To Back Flops? All We Know About His Tollywood Debut Alongside Prabhas & Mohanlal!

Akshay Kumar is on a roll with his projects! The star is awaiting the release of his highly anticipated movie, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. But there is more good news for Khiladi Kumar in the box office. He reportedly joins the star-studded cast of Vishnu Manchu’s passion project, Kannappa. It is a cinematic ode to the Tamil saint Bhakta Kannappa, a devout follower of Lord Shiva. The highly anticipated film stars three superstars from the South: Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Shiva Rajkumar.

This would be Akshay’s third South-language film. He first appeared in a bi-lingual 1997 Film, Ashanti. Then, he worked with Rajnikanth in Shankar’s 2.0, the Robot sequel.

Kannappa is actor-producer Manchu Vishnu’s ambitious project, currently being produced at RFC in Hyderabad. Mukesh Kumar Singh is directing this highly anticipated mythical epic.

Akshay Kumar is the latest to join this movie’s prolific list of superstars. Kannappa brings in mega stars under one roof for this epic fantasy film. In addition to Vishnu and his father, actor Mohan Babu, the film features Prabhas, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Madhoo, Sarathkumar, Prabhu Deva, Brahmanandam, Mukesh Rishi, Kaushal Manda, and others.

Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma will compose the film’s music, Sheldon Chau will film the cinematography, and Anthony will edit it.

Kannapaa Release Date

The movie is still being produced with more new casts and additions. As of yet, no announcement has been made about the release of Kannada, but the film aims for a theatrical release in late 2024.

The gala premiere of Kannappa took place in August, followed by holy rites to bless the film as it began its journey to completion.

Kannappa, with its star-studded ensemble, is set to captivate viewers across India as a tribute to Lord Shiva and a spectacular show of high grandeur. With Akshay Kumar joining in, the cast has grown in star power.
