The Tollywood romantic drama opened to mixed to positive reviews, with Rashmika’s performance and the overall concept being unanimously praised. Considering such reactions, the performance on weekdays was expected to be solid, but nothing like that has happened till now. Coming to the latest collection update, it scored an estimated 54 lakh on the first Tuesday, day 5. Compared to day 4’s 83 lakh, it’s a drop of 34.93%. Considering the budget of over 40 crores and some rave reviews, the collection isn’t up to mark.
Overall, The Girlfriend has earned an estimated 7.77 crore net at the Indian box office, as per Sacnilk. Adjusting for GST, the gross collection stands at 9.16 crores. From here, it is heading for the opening week of 8.7-9.1 crore net, which will be a disappointing score.
