Humshakals, after having an amazing start experienced a drop in 2nd week in its box office collections. The movie fared quite poorly all through its 2nd week and continues the same in its 3rd weekend as well, taking its domestic total so far to 63.72 crores at the domestic box office.
The Sajid Khan film even after being the third highest opener of 2014, had a tough time at the box office after the release of Ek Villain, which took over its business.
With its ensemble cast of Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Ram Kapoor, Tamannaah Bhatia, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu, the film due to its repetitive comic style had no takers post the second week. Also a negative word by the critics affected the film’s performance. Even though the film slowed down, it has been a profitable venture since the film’s satellite and music rights have been already sold at 45 crores.
