Join UsSo this is how the euphoria for Sultan turned out to be. After all the noise that was generated by the Yash Raj film en route its release, finally the hype has been worth it as the film has practically smashed majority of milestones (except best Day One) in its extended nine day run.
After scoring the Best Weekend, Fastest 100 Crore, Fastest 150 Crore and Fastest 200 Crore, the Salman Khan starrer has now also scored the best (extended) week by bringing in 229.16 crore in 9 days. On Thursday, the film brought in further 9.52 crore and to think of it, this was the first ever instance of the film going below the 10 crore mark!
The film has seen very good footfalls ever since its release and while the terrific first five days had hinted of a 250 crore (extended) week, the fact that the film has still come quite close to 230 crore is no mean feat. In fact the film has gone past the lifetime collections of practically all films (except four) and the latest milestone to be breached was Chennai Express [226.70 crore]. The film will cross Kick [233 crore] today and them aim for the next big milestone, Dhoom 3 [280.25 crore].
The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film is now expected to see a good rise in collections on Saturday and Sunday as family audiences could well be stepping back in for their weekend dose of entertainment. That would be key to the film hitting the 300 crore mark.
