Alia’s 2 States Beats Varun’s Main Tera Hero On Top 10 Chart Of 2014’s Movies

2 States kept up its high spirits on Wednesday. The film raked in approx 5.60 crores on its sixth day at the domestic box office. Despite the on going IPL tournament, 2 States is performing consistently over the week. The film has now crossed the 50 crore mark in its first week itself. With this, the film now stands with a total collection of 55.10 crores at the domestic box office.

Becoming the 4th highest grosser of 2014, 2 States has done a great business since its opening day. This Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor starrer has now surpassed Varun Dhawan’s comic caper, Main Tera Hero‘s collections as well.

Being a love story and coming from a big banner, the film was anyway expected to be a crowd puller. Also since it released on long weekend, it cashed in on that. If 2 States continues with this streak over the week, it is sure to surpass the collections of Kangana Ranaut’s Queen which currently stands at the 3rd position in the Top 10 Grossers of 2014 list. The first week business of 2 States can be easily estimated to be around 60 crores.
