Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Om Shanti Om. She was amongst the luckiest to make her big break alongside superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Back in 2013, Deepika and Shah Rukh delivered a blockbuster success with Chennai Express. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, was a hit on all fronts – comedy, music, and cinematic experience. It made a massive box office collection of 227 crores, earning the super duper hit verdict.
Ahead of the release, Shah Rukh Khan, along with Deepika Padukone and director Rohit Shetty, graced The Kapil Sharma Show for promotions. A member of the audience had a rather bizarre question for DP as he asked, “Deepika ji, aap dikhti bohot gharelu hai. Ghar pe bhi aap khudka kaam khud karti hai ya dusre log karte hai?”
To this, Deepika Padukone responded, “Sab jaanti hu khana pakana, barta dhona, saaf safai karna, kapde dhona, katka marna, dusting karna, jhadu pocha. Sab chees (I know everything like cooking, washing utensils, cleaning, doing laundry and wiping the floor).”
Shah Rukh Khan quickly interrupted and roasted, “Hum bhi filmo mein acting ke liye thodi na lete hain, ye aake set saaf-suf karle (We also don’t take her in films for her acting prowess, we take her so that she can clean the set).”
