One of the biggest surprise hits of Bollywood ever, Uri: The Surgical Strike was a rage across the country upon its release in January. Featuring Vicky Kaushal in lead, the movie was running successfully in theatres for more than a month. Backed by the powerful content and theme of patriotism, it dictated the heroic tale of Indian army.

It is now learnt that on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas (26th July), Uri: The Surgical Strike to return in theatres.

Confirming about the re-release, producer Ronnie Screwvala said, “The idea of making the film was to instil a sense of pride in the hearts of every Indian and to highlight the incredible service of the armed forces for our nation. I’m honoured to be a part of this initiative wherein Uri will be showcased across 500 theatres in the state on Kargil Vijay Diwas,” reports Mumbai Mirror.

The movie depicts the Indian Army’s retaliation (Surgical strikes) of the attack made by Pakistan based terrorist organisation on an army base near Uri, in September 2016.
