And the guest list was star-studded. But her picture with one guest, Director Gurinder Chadha, has been making news, and here’s why!

Gurinder Chadha, OBE, is a Kenyan-born Indo-British film director with Indian roots. The recurring topic of her work exposes the hardships of Indian women residing in the UK and how they need to integrate their converging traditional and modern cultures. She has carved a niche for herself with films like Bend It Like Beckham and Viceroy’s House.

Gurinder has been reported to head a Disney Musical based on an Indian Princess. So, naturally, when she was spotted with Alia, the rumor mill was abuzz that Alia would be the Disney Princess. There was so much fanfare and uphill rumors. But sorry to disappoint fans who were hoping to see Bhatt as the Disney Princess. Because Chadha says, that is not happening!

Gurinder took to the social media site X (Formerly Twitter) and, in response to a news piece by a portal, said, “This Is Not True. I’m Not Sure Where This Started. The Script Is Still In The Works. Alia, And I Had A Meeting About Another Project, And I Attended Her Charity Gala Recently. “

We get the message loud and clear, but the excellent news hinted at in Chadha’s post here is that they met for another project.

According to an acclaimed portal, Disney approved an original musical in 2022 based on a ‘dynamic princess from Indian history.’ Gurinder Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges will write the screenplay for this project, which Chadha will also direct and produce. However, information about the plot is yet unknown.
