The 2024 Tamil movie Rebel is now available to stream online. Directed by Nikesh RS, the period political action drama was released in theatres on March 22, 2024. Within two weeks of its release, the movie was available to stream on an OTT platform. The movie didn’t receive positive reactions from the critics and even struggled to earn good numbers at the box office.

The movie stars GV Prakash Kumar as Kathiresan, Mamitha Baiju as Sara Mary John, Venkitesh VP as Anthony, Shalu Rahim as Charlie, Karunas as Udhyakumar, Kalloori Vinoth as Pandi, Subramaniam Siva as Ramalingam and others. Actress Mamitha has become a new favourite of the South Indian movie-going audience after her fantastic performance in the Malayalam movie Premalu.
Nikesh RS directed the movie and co-wrote the story with A Bharathi Raja and Balakrishnan S. Arun Radhakrishnan worked as the film’s cinematographer, and GV Prakash Kumar composed the songs with the background score by OfRo and Siddhu Kumar.

Rebel Movie Plot/Synopsis
The IMDb synopsis reads, “Students who study in the town and how they are affected by the politics unfolding in the institution.”
The story is set in the 1980s and takes place in Kerala, in a fictional college. A new Tamil student joins the institution. However, the local political group leaves no chance to harass him. These clashes cause significant distress in college, as students join hands to fight against those who bully them. The matter gets extremely serious as the ugly politics control the students’ college life, which is supposed to be their best days.
Amidst all the turmoil, there’s a new friendship blooming between Sara and Kathiresan. What will be the conclusion of all this drama? We get all our answers towards the end.
