Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, was one of the first theatrical releases in January this year. The Sriram Raghavan directorial made everyone curious about the story because of the exciting cast. After six years, the director had a theatrical release post-Tabu and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Andhadhun (2018). The film was earlier scheduled to release on December 23, 2023. However, it was then postponed to January 12, 2024.
When Merry Christmas was released in theatres, the film received many positive reviews from critics. Even the movie-going audiences were in awe of Sriram’s new convoluted story and Katrina and Vijay’s impressive performances. Merry Christmas Cast and Crew
In the film, Katrina Kaif plays Maria and Vijay Sethupathi plays Albert. The film also stars Vinay Pathak, Ashwini Kalsekar, Luke Kenny, Pari Maheshwari Sharma and Sanjay Kapoor.
Based on Frederic Dard’s Le Monte-charge, the Hindi version is written by Sriram, Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti, and Anukriti Pandey. Pratheep Kumar S, Abdul Jabbar, Prasanna Bala Nataranjan, and Lata Karthikeyan wrote the Tamil version. Daniel B George composed the score, and Pritam composed the songs for the film.

On Christmas Eve during the 90s, Maria and Albert, two strangers, cross paths in Mumbai. Both hide a deep, dark secret but slowly fall for each other. As the night grows darker, the secrets start unravelling themselves. The twisted tale of fate, love and crime keeps you engrossed till the end.
