A lot of Malayalam movies are receiving immense love all over the country. Last year, Kaathal – The Core got everyone’s attention, and people couldn’t stop praising Mammootty’s hard-hitting performance in it. This year, the Malayalam film industry superstar impressed everyone with Bramayugam.

Bramayugam, a horror thriller film, was released in theatres in February and received great reviews. With the film, Mammootty again showcased his versatility. The film will soon make its way on an OTT platform. We have listed everything you need to know about the same.

Bramayugam Cast and Crew

The Malayalam horror thriller film stars Mammootty as Kodumon Potti, Manikandan R Achari as Koran, Arjun Ashokan as Thevan, Amalda Lizz as Yakshi and Sidharth Bharathan. Rahul Sadasivan has written and directed the film. T. D. Ramakrishnan penned the dialogues. Shehnad Jalal was the cinematographer, and Shafique Mohammed Ali was the editor. Christo Xavier composed the film’s music.

Bramayugam Plot

The story is set in the 17th century in Malabar. Two singers named Thevan and Koran saved themselves from the Portuguese slave trade and arrived at the banks of the Bharatappuzha River. Unfortunately, Koran gets killed by a mysterious force, and Thevan has no choice but to run away. Thevan hides inside an abandoned mansion where he meets Kodumon Potti and his cook. Potti asks Thevan to sing a song and pressures him to stay in the mansion overnight.

Slowly, Thevan learns that things are not normal in the mansion. He notices the strange behaviours of the cook and the Potti. Will he save himself from whatever danger lies around him? What secrets are hidden in the house? We find our answers towards the end.

Bramayugam Box Office

The Mammootty starrer became the second Malayalam film of 2024 to cross 50 crores gross at the global box office. The first film to achieve this global milestone is Girish AD’s Premalu.
