2024 is the year with some exciting horror movies releasing in theatres. M Night Shyamalan is one filmmaker known for peculiar stories that baffle our minds. Now, his daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan, is following in his footsteps and making her directorial debut with The Watchers. It is based on A.M. Shine’s book of the same name. Like her father, Ishana is also profoundly interested in telling horror stories. Her upcoming film’s first teaser trailer gives the right kind of chills.

The Watchers is a horror film that stars Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouere. As seen in the teaser trailer, Mina, an artist in her 20s, gets trapped in an abandoned property in a forest in western Ireland. She plays music while trapped with three other strangers in the same property. The forest seems relatively calm. However, it’s an eerie silence and not tranquillity.

One of the people tells Mina that they (the creatures) come every night and keep an eye on them. These creatures watch these people every till the morning. When a lady tells Mina they will be happy to see someone new, the creatures suddenly start “applauding”. The applause sounds more like they’re ready to attack. It’s not a pleasant sound. Even though the characters say they can’t be seen, in the end, we see the hands of two creatures that look ghastly.
