Is Sonakshi’s Character In OUATIM Dobaara Based On Mandakini?

There was a strong buzz that actress Sonakshi Sinha’s character in her upcoming film Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara, is based on the life of yesteryear actress Mandakini. Since, Sonakshi’s screen name Yasmeen is what was actress Mandakini’s real name.

Mandakini, who was born Yasmeen Joseph, is best remembered for her role in the 1985 film Ram Teri Ganga Maili. It was also rumored that the actress was having an affair with notorious don Dawood Ibrahim.

To be on a safer side, the makers of the film have gone a step ahead and changed Sonakshi’s screen name now. She, in the trailer was referred to as Yasmeen will now be called Jasmeen. Moreover, many schedules of the film will be dubbed all over again.

The striking similarities between the reel and real is hard to miss. However, the film that will be releasing on 15th August is perhaps the only valid answer to the doubts over.

OUATIMD is directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor, starring Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan along with Sonakshi in the lead roles.
