The Lion King collected $543.63 million during its domestic run and $1.11 billion at the international box office. Therefore, the film’s worldwide total was $1.66 billion. According to Deadline, the film’s net profit was around $580 million and was made on a budget of $260 million. Now, whether or not Mufasa: The Lion King will be able to surpass its predecessor is a big question, as there is already another Disney sequel running in the theatres, and that is Moana 2. Wicked is also ruling the box office, and to top that, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will clash with Mufasa.
