Actor Jeff Goldblum, who plays the role of Dr Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park series, claims that the role is completely relevant in today’s times. During an interview, the Jurassic World: Dominion actor also explained how the character is ahead of its time.
The 67-year-old actor will be reprising the role of Dr Malcolm in the upcoming film Jurassic World: Dominion. He is currently shooting for the film in London and has opened up about his character in the sixth installment of the Jurassic franchise.
Talking to People TV’s Couch Surfing, Jeff Goldblum said, “As it happens, there are things that my character talks about, has always talked about. The fragility of our species and the global cooperation that’s needed, and the foundation in science that’s needed, and the ethical use of science that’s needed to unite us in trust and connectedness as a family.”
Jeff Goldblum continued, “And to reach our potential and do right by ourselves and this glorious planet. All of those things are now more relevant than ever.”
The actor during the interview also explained that his character’s ethos will be maintained in the Colin Trevorrow-directed movie. Originally, the film’s franchise was developed by Steven Spielberg. Goldblum claimed that the sixth installment in the Jurassic franchise will incorporate the things which are apropos.
While the whole world is suffering from COVID-19 pandemic, film production has also suffered immensely during the period. Pinewood Studios in the UK in March had stopped the production of the film due to the pandemic. It was only July, the production of the film resumed.
As per latest reports, Jurassic World: Dominion will release on June 11, 2021. The cast of the film includes Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing. I talso stars Justice Smith and BD Wong. The film has also retained original cast members like Sam Neill and Laura Dern returning as Dr Alan Grant and Dr Ellie Sattler.
