There is only one erotic thriller brand that is currently popular in Bollywood and that is Hate Story. Though the foundation was kept by Vivek Agnihotri, it was further established by the team of director Vishal Pandya and producers T-Series with Hate Story 2 and Hate Story 3. As a team, they have done well to keep audiences interested year after year. Though in 2016 there is no new installment of Hate Story [2017 will see Hate Story 4 being released though], the team is now arriving with Wajah Tum Ho. The film’s promo is interesting and yet again, it showcases the coming together of erotica, thrills and technology.
As a matter of fact in the hands of Vishal Pandya, this genre has been accepted by single screens as well as multiplex audiences, especially when one looks at the numbers that Hate Story 3 had managed. Of course it’s the masses that turn up for these films but the fact that even multiplexes are enjoying good footfalls means Wajah Tum Ho would have a fair chunk from this segment as well.
Box Office Predictions – Wajah Tum Ho
If one looks at the opening day numbers, Hate Story 2 [5.26 crore] was good while Hate Story 3 [9.72 crore] had gone to a different level altogether. Now if Wajah Tum Ho manages to get even half of that and brings in anything in the vicinity of 4.5 crore, it would be a good enough start for it in order to consolidate further at the Box Office.
Last few weeks haven’t been great for Hindi films and it has been a while since one saw a clean Hit at the Box Office. Wajah Tum Ho has been made at a controlled cost and has an entire week open for it to make merry. All that it needs is good content to allow word of mouth going.
