Edgar Wright’s dystopian action thriller The Running Man, the second adaptation of Stephen King’s 1982 novel, has been in theaters for ten days now and has already grossed $48.3 million worldwide. With this, the Glen Powell-starrer has surpassed the $38.1 million lifetime total of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1987 original by a margin of over $10 million as of now (as per Box Office Mojo).
And in doing that, it has also outgrossed several notable 2025 releases, including Black Bag, Nobody 2, Bring Her Back, and M3GAN 2.0. Now approaching the $50 million milestone, the film is just inches away from overtaking its next 2025 target: Mel Gibson’s Flight Risk. Here’s how much more The Running Man needs to earn to outgross the Mark Wahlberg-starrer action thriller at the global box office.
