Mission Mangal Box Office: Akshay Kumar Scores His Biggest Opening Day, Goes Past Gold & Kesari

What a run Akshay Kumar has been having at the box office and that too in such a consistent manner. His Mission Mangal has exceeded expectations and seen a very good start for itself. Of course, there was advantage of the Independence Day release but one can’t ignore the fact that his superstar status coupled with the content in the offering played a major part in the film sustaining right till the night shows.

With this, Akshay Kumar has now beaten his own record of Gold which had released last year and collected 25.25 crores on its opening day. Mission Mangal pretty much sits at the top and there is a decent gap in between the two films. What is further notable is the fact that Akshay Kumar is now busy beating his own records as the top four in the list have released in last 12 months, which further signifies how he has been finding love from the audience one film after another.
