The Varun Dhawan starrer Main Tera Hero has put up a good performance at the Domestic Box Office. Main Tera Hero was hailed for its comic timing and who better than David Dhawan could have directed this piece. The film now has crossed 55 crores at the domestic box office, which is good.
It is strongly placed at the fifth position in the Highest Grossers’ List of 2014. Interestingly, three of Balaji production films are currently featured in the Top 10 Grossers of 2014 which is commendable. The other films being Ragini MMS 2 which is at the sixth position and Shaadi Ke Side Effects at the tenth position.
Looking at these trade numbers, it looks like the audiences are now watching films beyond the star quotient phenomenon. The inclusion of movies of newbie actors such as Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, Sunny Leone and also the Yaariyan star cast shows the audience tastes. It is interesting to see that these one-film-old kids have surpassed the businesses of big stars such as Amitabh Bachchan’s Bhoothnath Returns or even Madhuri Dixit’s Dedh Ishqiya.
