Finally, Thalapathy Vijay will be getting the huge success he has been waiting for long. Yes, his Leo is set to emerge as a big money spinner at the box office. After taking an earth-shattering start of as high as 148.50 crores gross, the film maintained a solid momentum over the extended 4-day weekend. The action thriller marked the reunion of Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj after the success of Master. Along with their collaboration, the factor of LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) played a big role in garnering all the hype. On top of that, the stardom of Thalapathy has taken the film towards the success mark in the first 4 days, which is simply superb!
As per Track Tollywood’s report, Leo’s breakeven in the Telugu states lies at 21 crores+, and the film has already earned a share of 15 crores gross in the first 3 days. Within an opening week itself, the mark will be crossed. In Karnataka, the share is reported to be 11 crores in the first 3 days, which is almost there, near the breakeven of 13 crores gross.
Kerala is one of the most powerful regions of Thalapathy Vijay. Here, the breakeven lies at 45 crores gross, and the reported share is 25 crores, which will be crossed like a cakewalk as Leo is showing no signs of slowing down. Coming to Vijay’s home pitch, i.e., Tamil Nadu, the breakeven mark is near 200 crores gross, but that will be crossed very soon as the film is going strong there. In the overseas market, too, Leo is doing superb business and is very close to the breakeven mark of $20 million.
On the whole, this Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is going to emerge as a clean box office hit in all territories soon.
