Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo continues its rocking run at the worldwide box office. On Monday, the film emerged as the highest-grossing film in LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) by surpassing the lifetime collection of Vikram. Even yesterday, the numbers that have come are impressive. Keep reading to know how the biggie performed on its day 6!
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action thriller also stars Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in key roles. It’s the third film of LCU after Kaithi and Vikram. While critics’ reviews have been mixed, the film is doing wonders at ticket windows. Now, soon, it’ll be entering the 500 crore club globally.
On Monday, Leo made a smashing entry in the 400 crore club and surpassed the lifetime of Vikram (426 crores gross). On day 5, the film earned 49.25 crores gross globally, taking the worldwide box office collection to 427.55 crores gross. It included 270.55 crores gross from India and 157 crores gross from overseas. Please take note that these all are revised numbers.
On day 6, there was a Dussehra holiday across the country, resulting in another solid day. It is learned that globally, Leo amassed 39 crores gross, taking the total to 466.55 crores gross. The breakdown of this includes 304.55 crores gross from India and 162 crores gross from the overseas market. These are some crazy numbers, and the film is already an all-time blockbuster.
In the next two days, i.e., today and tomorrow, the Thalapathy Vijay starrer will be entering the 500 crore club at the worldwide box office. After that, the film will be aiming to hit the 600 crore mark.
It is also learned that Leo has gone past the breakeven mark in almost all territories and is set to emerge as a huge hit. Only in Tamil Nadu, it is yet to hit the breakeven but will be achieved very soon.
Meanwhile, director Lokesh Kanagaraj on Tuesday suffered injuries on his leg while taking part in a promo event for the Thalapathy Vijay starrer at a movie hall in Palakkad. Kanagaraj arrived at the movie hall and by then, a massive crowd of well-wishers had already gathered to have a glimpse of the director.
