The sequel picks up from where the first movie ended after Timothee’s character, Paul Atreides, meets up with Zendaya’s Chani. The film received excellent reviews from critics, and people raved about it on social media; it has received an excellent 93% score on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer and a 95% Audience Score. It is also one of the top-rated movies on IMDb, with an 8.8 rating.

Dune 2 has already earned $574.35 million at the global box office and is expected to reach the $600 million milestone soon. According to trade analyst Luiz Fernando, this Timothee Chalamet-led sequel is eyeing a $700 to $720 million global run at the box office. As per the data, Denis Villeneuve’s film earned $30.7 million on its fourth weekend overseas, contrary to The Batman’s $25 million and Oppenheimer’s $30.9 million.
