On its eight day, which also happens to be a working day, Sultan is still maintaining its collections in double digit. The Ali Abbas Zafar directed film brought in 10.82 crore more and with this, the collections now stand at 219.64 crore. In the process, it has now gone past another Salman Khan starrer, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo [210 crore].

The film has seen some drop in collections during the weekdays. However, one has to take this into consideration that this is strictly relative to the blockbuster start it took during the first five days. For a regular mainstream release, maintaining a run rate of 10 crore per day even on a weekend is considered to be fair enough and here, Sultan is doing it on the weekend. Moreover, in real term scenario, this is the start of the second week and still the collections haven’t gone below an optimum benchmark.

The real test for the film would come on Saturday and Sunday because this is where the film would have to (ideally) keep collecting in the range of 12-13 crore. Yes, Friday would go below the 10 crore mark due to arrival of Great Grand Masti that would take away a fair share of First Day First Show audience. However for the family audiences, there is Sultan as an offering which would find good attention coming its way for the rest of the weekend.

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
