After some quick-fire promotions, Kapoor & Sons hits the screens tomorrow. The film has followed the strategy of contained, but aggressive promotion timelines, as a result of which last one month has seen the Karan Johar film being seen everywhere.
Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan have been all over the town and made sure that the arrival of their film has been announced well. The music has seen ‘Kar Gayi Chull‘ turning out to be a chartbuster, which has been a positive sign for the film, especially amongst the youth.
The film should see a decent opening at the Box Office of around 40%-50%, especially at the multiplexes of major cities. There is no competition for the Shakun Batra directed film from earlier weeks or the current week, which means the stage is wide open for the film to perform. It all boils down to the actual content of the film and if that works, film should hold on well during the weekdays as well.
There are three more small budget films releasing alongside – Cute Kameena, Dare You and Mumbai Central. None of these are expected to get any release outside a few screens in a city or two.
