The opening day box office report of Boss has considerable dispute over it. While trade estimates suggested 18 crore earning for the film on its 1st day, the actuals have been eerily low comparatively. Scheduled for a mid week release, the film fared exceptionally well in the single screens on Day 1. However, the holiday impact was way lower than one would have expected as a lot of private sector offices and even many schools in the country remained open!
The multiplexes did not see a heavy occupancy in the morning and noon shows, it was only towards the evening in multiple circuits that the occupancy began to grow. The nail-biting second ODI between India and Australia was another deterrent for Boss. However, the film earned in the range of 13 crores only. Though the territorial break up hasn’t reached, yet the film failed to beat Rowdy Rathore opening day box office collections.
