The dismal initial of Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey last week has saddened many hearts. Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone’s revolutionary fervor does not seem to have found many admirers at the box-office.
Break Ke Baad may have recovered 50% of its cost from non-theatrical sources to become a safe proposition for its producers, but its fate at the box-office is quite sad. The Imran Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer made a total Rs. 11,27,05,863 from 479 cinemas. Sunny Deol’s Khuda Kasam is below the mark with a total of Rs. 13,55,204 from 32 cinemas as is Allah Ke Banday with Rs. 43,64,448 from 189 cinemas.
The dubbed versions fared poorly with Unstoppable – Tabahi Express getting a total Rs. 9,94,965 from 115 cinemas and Barbara Mori’s Spanish Beauty a total Rs. 5,34,378 from 44 cinemas.
Hrithik Roshan’s magic dropped further with Guzaarish making Rs. 3,48,07,200 from 247 cinemas. Harry Potter Aur Maut Ke Tohfe (Part I) (dubbed) shared the same fate with Rs. 75,88,923 from 138 cinemas.
The comic caper Golmaal 3 is still the best of the lot and laughing all the way to the bank with a total Rs. 1,77,17,128 from 246 cinemas. Unstoppable is okay with Rs. 92,33,571 from 99 cinemas.
