Only five days after its release, Sony’s Anaconda had already slipped out of the top five movies on the US daily charts. The film arrived on December 25 and carries the weight of being a meta reboot of Jennifer Lopez’s Anaconda from 1997, as well as the seventh entry in the long-running series. Even with an early drop in daily rankings, the movie still managed to carve out a notable moment during its first Monday in release.
