Boss enjoyed for itself a leisurely 5 days weekend at box office by virtue of an early Wednesday release. The film by collecting 42.50 crores in its extended 1st weekend at the domestic box office has surpassed the opening weekend income of Akshay Kumar’s last screen stint OUATIMD that collected 41 crores.

However, it is a tad bit unfair to compare Boss or even Besharam‘s 5 day collections vis-a-vis a normal release’s 3 day collection at the box office. The fact remains that films like Grand Masti which earned 40 crores in 3 days have a greater prowess and steam compared to a film that drudged over 5 days to earn nearly the same amount at the box office.
Though Akshay has defeated his own best by surpassing the opening weekend numbers of OUATIMD as well as evicting Shootout At Wadala from Koimoi’s Top 10 Opening Weekend List, Boss pitched against films that witnessed a normal Friday release itself is faulty.
