This Salman-Akki-Priyanka starrer was an out and out rom com with Salman Khan taking the very unusual comic route, making an astounding impact on the masses. From the boxers and the towel dance in Jeene ke hai Char din to taking the audience on a cutely jovial yet convivial romantic ride, Mujhse Shaadi Karoge packed in a punch, the Haha-hihi way!
One of Bollywood’s best comedies, Angoor is almost equal to a comical masterpiece today. As Ashok and Bahadur embark on a jocular chaperon, smiles and laughters spray around. Sanjeev Kapoor and Deven Verma’s killer camaraderie took Angoor to new heights, creating a standard for Indian comic capers much ahead of their times.
Boney Kapoor’s iconic Comedy of Errors, No Entry happily made the nation crazy as they dealt with the idea of domestic Indian life with utter subtlety and exuberance. While Salman as the hunk carried his persona very well, Anil Kapoor’s histrionics called for a few ceetees and taalis all round! Not to miss, the unending dose of laughter!
Another film that used nicely placed catchy phrases and made a complete fool of the censor board, using crude jokes with utmost conviction, Delhi Belly was definitely a laugh riot of sorts. From the Bhaag DK Bose number to the pun intended dialogues, Delhi Belly went on record to garner immense popularity and appreciation for is marvelous treatment.
When three married men decided to ditch roz ki dal-chaawal for a platter of specially served biryani, huge commotion enterprises following the death of Lara Dutta aka the biryani. What happens next is a mad cap comic edition that gets us all lot-pot! If Masti was huge, Grand Masti would be huger.
When Rohit Shetty decided to launch his own brand of comedy, he did that effectively with Golmaal, serving a benchmark to many other comedy directors. Truly the best and the most entertaining of them all presently, Rohit has created a niche for himself. And a character like Tushhar Kapoor’s only added to the film’s glory! All in all, a comical treat!
