With Salman Khan’s Kick raking up more at the box office by the conclusion of its first week than Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express last Eid, comparisons were inevitable.
The actor, who was present at the trailer launch of a film recently, was asked whether he is now the undisputed King of Bollywood given that his film Kick performed remarkably well, the actor replied, “There is already a king there (He was referring to SRK). Let him be the king. You have a problem with him being the king? I don’t have a problem with him being the king. Shah Rukh is the king and he should be the king. Keep him there. That’s a good position.”
Salman continued to talk about his position in the industry when he said, “I’ll place myself later. I’m currently misplaced,”
Despite not being as thick friends as earlier, the actors have steered clear from pulling each other down in public forums or in front of the media. Of course Salman has said time and again that they aren’t friends anymore but not being friends don’t make people enemies. And Bollywood antagonists are more a product of media hype than real animosity.
