Post watching Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in press show, I decided to watch it for the second time with the entire gang of my friends (with whom I also watched Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2). Overheard some feminists bashing the movie for their particular reasons so decided to watch it for the third time with a group having girls to know their opinion.

I’ve compiled few reasons/sequences/positive things about the film which I feel are the pillars ensuring the success of the film.

1. Background Music
Hitesh Sonik’s BGM is the most underrated thing & soul of the movie. While I write this the ‘gold digger’ theme is still reverberating in my mind, such has been the impact of its background score. Each scene catapults to another level just because of the complemented sound effects used in it. Hitesh has been Luv’s favorite since his debut film – Pyaar Ka Punchnama & with SKTKS, the duo has surely given their best till date. Hitesh has smartly orchestrated few bits of the music taking the same template as PKP series.
2. Emotional Quotient
The movie rides the same vehicle of ‘bromance vs romance’ until it gets very special in 2nd half. Luv tries to infuse some of his Akash Vaani elements in the movie & nails every bit of it. The graph of Sonu (Kartik Aaryan) & Titu’s (Sunny Singh) friendship hits the sky in second half when Sweety (Nushrat Bharucha) manages to divide their thinking.
“Agar phir aisa hua toh Sonu aur Titu bhi baaki doston ki tarah 3 mahine mein ek baar mil liya karenge…” – this entire episode along with Arjit Singh’s soul-shaking song Tera Yaar Hoon Main proves how the movie is not only just about comical sequence but also has a strong scope for drama. Also the scene amidst the song when Kartik stops to hold Sunny Singh’s hand and dances with him provoked everyone to cry their heart out.
